ABOUT INFOPARK NEAR KAKKANAD COCHIN (KOCHI - KERALA)
Infoparks Kerala has been registered as a society under the Travancore Cochin Literrary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act XII of 1955 on October 27, 2004 for providing infrastructural facilities of world class quality for IT and ITES industries. The objective and basic philosophy of the Society have been detailed in the Memorandum of Association. After formation of the Society, Government has transferred 91.90 acres of land belonging to Kinfra Export Promotion Industrial Parks Ltd., Kakkanad, Kochi to Infoparks Kerala for the development of the IT Park.
Infoparks Kerala have commissioned two IT buildings of 1,25,000 sq.ft. (Thapasya) and 2,25,000 sq.ft (Vismaya) and 41 companies including Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), IBS, are operating from the Park in Kakkanad and ITES Habitat premises in Kaloor, presently.
Out of 91.90 acres of land transferred, 25.18 acres of land has been leased out to Wipro to establish their own campus in Infopark, Kakkanad. Further 4 acres of land have been leased out to Larsen & Tourbo for constructing their building for renting out to IT entrepreneurs. A memorandum of understandings was signed between Government of Kerala (GoK) and Dubai Internet City (DIC) for setting up and operation of an IT Township (Smart City) on 9th September 2005 with the main objective of creating at least 90,000 jobs in phases over a period of 10 years.

The VSNL's communication gateway is located less than 2 km from the park. This gateway handles around 70% of the country's data traffic. The proximity to the SAFE and SE-ME-WE 3 cables dropping zone and direct OF connection to the gigabyte router of VSNL, enables the park to offer 100% uptime data connectivity to units. Kochi offers Pacific and Atlantic route by under sea cables to the US.
Smart Business Center, a modern plug and play incubation facility, has started functioning from April 2004 inside this building. Low rentals clubbed with high quality furnishing makes the SBC an ideal choice for startup enterprises.
